Danish Refugee Council x Grundfos Partnership Report

Business Humanitarian Partnership
IN UGANDA, WHERE thousands of refugees are rebuilding their lives far from home, the need for solutions that go beyond emergency aid has never been greater. The Business Humanitarian Partnership between the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) and Grundfos was born from a shared belief: that sustainable change happens when humanitarian purpose meets long-term thinking.
This partnership focuses on building a sustainable refugee response, addressing critical needs while laying the groundwork for resilience. Through reliable and innovative water solutions, the initiative supports everyday life in refugee settlements, helping communities regain dignity, stability, and the capacity to move forward.
Rather than operating in isolation, DRC and Grundfos chose to partner and share risk, combining humanitarian field expertise with private-sector efficiency and innovation. A clearly defined three-year cost structure ensures transparency, accountability, and continuity, allowing the program to evolve responsibly over time. Together, the partners demonstrate how cross-sector collaboration can create lasting impact, transforming humanitarian response into a pathway toward sustainable futures.
